Teen Cooking on Zoom Week 1 Online
Do you want to learn how to make healthy vegetarian dishes?
Join us for a series of sustainable, nutritious, plant based cooking with seasonal produce. Each session will include 1 savory recipe and 1 dessert. The recipes are easy to put together and can be duplicated for Holiday get-togethers. Shopping lists will be provided prior to the event so you can cook along with us! Registration is required.
Shopping List for week 1:
Recipe 1: 7 Layer Mexican Dip

Canned Refried beans

Sour Cream ½ Cup +2 tbsp. water

Taco seasoning

1 Avocado ripe

1 tbsp. Lime juice

1 tbsp. fresh cilantro
-
1/4 tsp salt 1 small green chili (optional)

Tomato salsa ( ready made or make from scratch with ¾ cup chopped tomato + ¼ cup chopped onion 1/8 tsp salt)

Shredded Cheddar Cheese ( ½ cup)

Black olives 1 tbsp.
Recipe 2: Berry Crisp
Ingredients:

3 Cups of fresh assorted berries of your choice (strawberries, blueberries,raspberries or peaches )

¼ cup white sugar

¼ cup all purpose flour

1 tbsp lime juice

½ cup quick oats
-
1/4 cup all purpose flour

2 tbsp brown sugar
-
2 tbsp butter (salted)
Tools Required: Cutting board, knife, 5 mixing bowls small size, 1 mixing bowl large size, mixing spoons, medium size clear dish to layer the dip, baking dish 8 inches( for berry crisp)
