Teen Cooking on Zoom Week 1 Online

Do you want to learn how to make healthy vegetarian dishes?  

Join us for a series of sustainable, nutritious, plant based cooking with seasonal produce.  Each session will include 1 savory recipe and 1 dessert. The recipes are easy to put together and can be duplicated for Holiday get-togethers.  Shopping lists will be provided prior to the event so you can cook along with us!   Registration is required. 

Shopping List for week 1:

Recipe 1: 7 Layer Mexican Dip

  • Canned Refried beans

  • Sour Cream ½ Cup +2 tbsp. water

  • Taco seasoning

  • 1 Avocado ripe

  • 1 tbsp. Lime juice

  • 1 tbsp. fresh cilantro

  • 1/4 tsp salt 1 small green chili (optional)

  • Tomato salsa  ( ready made or make from scratch with ¾ cup chopped tomato + ¼ cup chopped onion 1/8 tsp salt)

  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese ( ½ cup)

  • Black olives 1 tbsp.

Recipe 2: Berry Crisp

Ingredients:

  • 3 Cups of fresh assorted berries of your choice (strawberries, blueberries,raspberries or peaches )

  • ¼ cup white sugar

  • ¼ cup all purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp lime juice

  • ½ cup quick oats

  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp butter (salted)

Tools Required: Cutting board, knife, 5 mixing bowls small size, 1 mixing bowl large size, mixing spoons, medium size clear dish to layer the dip, baking dish 8 inches( for berry crisp)
